Croutons

Croutons are typically made from stale bread that has been cubed and seasoned before being baked or fried. Since they no longer contain moisture due to the dryness of stale bread, it eliminates the need for refrigeration. In fact, placing them in the refrigerator can make them go stale quicker by absorbing moisture from other foods.
Additionally, most store-bought croutons include natural or artificial preservatives that enhance their shelf life without requiring refrigeration. These preservatives not only maintain their crispy texture but also prevent mold growth and bacterial contamination.
