Sealed Applesauce

There are several reasons why applesauce does not need to be refrigerated. First of all, the high sugar content in applesauce acts as a natural preservative. Sugar helps to create an unfavorable environment for bacteria and other microorganisms to grow, significantly extending its shelf life.
Secondly, most commercially produced applesauce goes through a pasteurization process where it is heated to kill any harmful bacteria or yeast that could cause spoilage. This process further enhances the safety and longevity of the product. Furthermore, the tightly sealed packaging of store-bought applesauce prevents air from entering and spoiling it.
