Foods You Should Never Store In The Fridge

Dried Spices

Dried Spices

Dried spices are processed and dehydrated, which removes all the moisture from the plant material. Without moisture, bacteria and other microorganisms cannot survive or grow. This means that dried spices have an incredibly long shelf life and do not require refrigeration for preservation purposes.

In fact, refrigerating dried spices could even be detrimental to their quality. The fluctuating temperatures inside your refrigerator can cause condensation to form on the spice containers, introducing moisture where it shouldn’t be. Moisture can quickly degrade the quality of dried spices by causing clumping or mold growth.
