“The Good Doctor” is based on a South Korean series of the same name. It follows the life and career of Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome.
Dr. Shaun Murphy, portrayed by Freddie Highmore, is a brilliant and highly skilled surgeon with exceptional abilities to diagnose and treat medical conditions. However, his condition of autism spectrum disorder and savant syndrome presents both personal and professional challenges. Despite his extraordinary talents, Shaun faces skepticism and prejudice from some of his colleagues and superiors at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.
