“Kung Fu” is a reboot of the 1972 series of the same name and premiered in 2021. The series follows the story of Nicky Shen (played by Olivia Liang), a young Chinese American woman who, after a life-changing journey to a Shaolin monastery in China, returns to her hometown of San Francisco.
Nicky is highly skilled in martial arts and has trained as a Shaolin warrior. However, her return home is marked by her determination to use her martial arts skills to combat crime and injustice in her community.
