“Kindred” is based on the Octavia Butler novel of the same name. The storyline centers around Dana James, a young writer in her twenties residing in Los Angeles, who is relentlessly pursuing her first major career breakthrough. However, her persistent struggles in both her personal and professional life suddenly take a backseat when an extraordinary ability emerges: the power to travel back in time.
In a serendipitous moment, Dana stumbles upon a woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to her deceased mother from the 1800s, and astonishingly, she realizes that others can also perceive this apparition.
