Emilio Delgado was best known for portraying Luis, who was the owner of The Fix-It-Shop on the hit television series Sesame Street. Delgado first joined Sesame Street in 1971 and was part of the show up until 2016. Although Delgado wasn’t a part of the show anymore, Sesame Street insisted that he still represent them and was part of Sesame Street’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Delgado was given the title of the longest-running role for a Mexican-American in television history. Sadly, Delgado was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020, which led to his death on March 20th of this year; he was only 81 years old.
