American Girl dolls were wildly popular when I was a kid, and they still are to this day. Of course, the old school dolls from the 80s and 90s are the ones pulling the hefty price tags. An original Samantha doll in excellent condition could bring hundreds, but in perfect condition, it could even tip into the thousands. Some newer dolls and accessories can bring in a pretty penny, too, depending on how rare or sought after they are.
If you’re currently the parent of a kid who loves American Girl, it’s probably starting to not sound so bad when they ask for a new doll to add to their collection.
