I’m not talking about cameo knock-offs that have been created from a mold, but legit carved cameo jewelry made from shell, coral, stone, lava, or glass. Some of the earliest examples date all the way back to the 3rd century BC, but I’m willing your family heirlooms aren’t quite that old. Even still, these intricate jewelry pieces are highly coveted and could be worth a lot of money.
And before you try whipping out your own carving tools to get to work, know that there are ways for them to tell what’s really old and what isn’t. Just saying.
