Median Household Income: $33,709
Poverty Rate: 21.5%
Population: 3,520
Median Home Value: $76,600

This small Indiana town’s median household income is over $18k lower than the national average. Not to mention, the city’s median household income is also $75,000 less than the median household income of Indiana’s wealthiest town, Zionsville.

Housing prices, however, are about in line with the income – something you don’t see in many of our states! In other words, people are still able to afford living costs despite having a lower median household income.
