50 of The Most Miserable Cities In Each State

Keokuk, Iowa

Keokuk is considered to be the most miserable city to live in and is the southernmost city in the state. Residents of Keokuk are leaving in numbers which is largely due to the drastic decrease in the housing market. An average home in Keokuk only costs around $67,000, which is about half of what the state’s average home costs.

Keokuk has seen a decrease in its population and is dwindling every year. Another reason why¬†Keokuk is struggling is that there aren’t many job opportunities, leaving several people unemployed. It seems like¬†Keokuk will be a dead city within a couple of years if things don’t change.
