Dyke started his career as a radio host during the 1940s and gained a lot of his popularity from his charismatic voice. Once The Dick Van Dyke Show show aired in the 1960s, Dyke became an American icon as everyone knew who he was.

Dyke is now 96 years old and is still acting and singing when he can. His most recent role was in Mary Poppins Returns as Mr. Dawes Jr., which was released in 2018. Dick Van Dyke also released his first solo album in years called Step (Back) In Time.
