5 Things You Should Never Buy From Craigslist RI

Craigslist Founder Discovers Online Goldmine

Craigslist has become one of the most convenient ways to buy and sell things. If you’ve ever scrolled through Craigslist RI, you’ve probably seen lots of options – and usually at a good price. When you see something you want for less than what it’s selling in the store, it can be easy to jump at the chance to make the purchase. However, while there are lots of good deals on Craigslist RI, there are also some things you should beware of. Sometimes it is best to spend a little extra money to buy something from a more reliable source. But what types of things should you NOT be buying from Craigslist? Sit tight, and we’ll let you know. Here are 5 things you should never buy from Craigslist RI.

High End Purses And Accessories

Are you looking for a deal on the hottest Louie bag or Coach wallet? Well, Craigslist RI probably isn’t the place to go. If you search for expensive high end items on Craigslist, you’ll probably find lots of options and most of them will be less than the retail price. However, they’re probably knock-offs. While some sellers are open about the fact that their products are not authentic, others will try to swindle you into thinking you’re buying the real thing.

Couches And Beds

Furniture is expensive, and people are often looking to save money on big items like couches and beds. However, when you’re dealing with people on Craigslist, you just never know what you’re going to get. Upholstered fabrics can be breeding grounds for all sorts of bugs and germs. Over the years, there has been countless reports of people getting bed bugs or fleas from furniture items they’ve purchased on Craigslist. In general, there’s nothing wrong with buying any of these items used, but you should at least try to get them from someone you know and trust.

Vehicles Without A Title

This may seem like a no brainer, but you’d be surprised what people will tell you to make a sale. In most (if not all) states, you need a title to register vehicles (cars, scooters, motorcycles). However, some sellers on Craigslist will try to sell these items without a title. Some will even go as far as telling you that you don’t need one – but make sure you do your research before posting.

Opened Food or Beverages

Again, this one seems obvious – but you’d be surprised how many people on Craigslist are selling things like opened cases of baby formula. I know things like this can be expensive, and if you see a low price you want to jump on it quickly, but safety should always be a number one concern. If something is opened, you have no idea what’s been done to it.

Underwear/Bathing Suits

Whenever you’re buying something from a complete stranger, it’s always best to take the most cautious approach. Things like underwear and bathing suits aren’t the most sanitary thing to buy from Craigslist – especially if they’re used.
