Spotting a celebrity can make even the coolest of people feel a little bit flustered. I remember the time my husband and I were away celebrating our anniversary and Bill Murray held open the elevator door for us to enter when we departed the lobby for our hotel room. We made some small talk about golf and the weather, our dinner plans and what we recommended to him at the hotel restaurant. We knew who he was but chose not to acknowledge him as a celebrity since he was just heading to dinner – at the same place we’d be a half hour later – and we felt like we did good. Even though we would personally never stop a celeb for a photo or an autograph, we do enjoy seeing them. And if you love a good celebrity spotting adventure, we can name some of the cities you’re most likely to see a celeb.

Los Angeles
Of course this is the most iconic place in which you will see a celeb. They are here in full force since this is the city in which many celebrities work and play on a regular basis. You’ll see celebrity homes and it’s almost impossible not to see a celebrity somewhere when you are out and about. We’ve dined at The Ivy next to LeeLee Sobieski, we’ve shopped with Andrew Lloyd Weber (not with him personally, but in the same place as he) and we’ve even had cocktails next to Barbara Streisand at Geoffrey’s in Malibu.

Chicago
It’s a business city and a fun play place for many celebs. If you are looking for someone famous to see, try going to RPM Italian, the restaurant owned by Giuliana and Bill Rancic. They often host their famous friends for dinner and other famous people like to come in since they know that there are famous owners who also value their privacy. Additionally, many of the other shops, restaurants and hotels feature a number of famous visitors.

Aspen
It’s where the wealthy love to play. At any given time – particularly during the snow season – you will see celebrities just about everywhere you go. Many live here on a full time basis and call this place home. It’s not uncommon to see celebs here on vacation or just to have a good time outside of their permanent residence. It’s a great vacation destination, too, so that makes it even more worthwhile when you visit.

Denver
Denver is another popular city for famous faces. It’s got great sports teams, wonderful restaurants and it’s the kind of place the wealthy and famous like to go to get out of the limelight a bit. It’s a lovely city and there is plenty to do. The weather is perfect year round for a variety of different outdoor adventures, which is what makes it such a popular place for celebs and not-so-famous people alike.

Orlando
It’s home to Disney World – which is a lot nicer than Disneyland, to be honest – and it’s where you’ll see celebs left and right. As a lifelong Floridian, I’ve had annual passes to Disney almost my entire life living an hour away and it’s almost impossible not to see someone famous every single time you’re in town. For a long time Tiger Woods and Shaq called the area home. Tom and Suri Cruise used to go to Disney all the time and there are always famous people at Disney and shopping at the Mall at Millenia.

Aside from LA, this is the city in the US with the most celebs. They live here, the play here and they love it here. Any time we go to NYC we see someone famous either walking down the street on 5th Avenue, shopping for shoes in Saks or dining at the Four Seasons. It’s a gorgeous city with so much to offer that it’s just amazing. We almost don’t even notice celebs here because we are too busy just enjoying ourselves. It’s way cooler than just a celeb spotting site.

Miami
Loaded with celebrities and those who want to be celebrities, Miami is a great place for celeb spotting. If you really want to know where to go, make it the Fontainebleau Miami, one of the most iconic hotels in the city. It’s not the only place you’ll see them, but it’s one of the best places for celeb sighting if that is what you are in town for. If you’re just in town to visit, there is a lot you can do aside from this – including beaches, the Everglades, dinner cruises, amazing restaurants and great shopping.

Austin
This Texas city doesn’t seem like the kind of place you’d go to spot celebs, but it is. There are so many of them here because of the music scene. It’s vibrant and out-of-this-world, which means that you’re going to find it’s possible to come here and hear famous musicians, see up-and-coming musicians and just enjoy the place immensely. It’s a gorgeous city with a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and nightlife.

Las Vegas
Vegas ranks right up there with LA and NYC in terms of celeb spotting. It’s a favorite weekend getaway for most of the younger celebrities that live in Hollywood since it’s a quick flight. The city is filled with high-end hotels, restaurants, bars and casinos and this draws in the famous people left and right. With so many famous shows here, too, it’s almost impossible not to see someone famous at least once or twice during your stay here.

The OC
Orange County is comprised of several great cities, and many of them are filled with celebs. Anaheim is one of them and it’s popular because it’s home to Disneyland. Celebs bring their kids here regularly and that’s why you’re going to see a lot of them here. Additionally, places like Newport Beach and Laguna Beach really do call to celebs for being such great places to dine and enjoy life – and they’re the places you’re going to see the Real Housewives out and about, and that’s always fun.

Malibu
Beautiful views, gorgeous homes and a lot of really nice restaurants mean only one thing; this is where you are going to see celebrities. Most of the world’s most famous people either live here all the time or they at least reside here part time in houses right on the beach. This includes famous faces such as Barbara Streisand, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more. You’re bound to see at least one famous face here when you visit.

Maui
This Hawaiian island is home to some of the most amazing hotels in the world, and some of the most beautiful views and locations. That means it’s time for you to get over here and find a place to stay so you can celeb-watch. Many live here in seasonal houses, and they liked to be left alone. This is one place that it’s okay to look but a little less okay to approach celebs. They are, after all, really trying to relax here. That’s what Hawaii is all about.

Napa Valley
It’s a short flight from LA, and that means that a lot of celebs come up here to spend long weekends and holidays. It’s a beautiful location with so many great vineyards and wineries, and it makes for an exceptionally relaxing little getaway. People do love to spend time here, and it’s not at all unlikely that you will see some famous faces here when you’re in town. You might not remember those famous faces, of course, because of all that wine.

You can’t live or visit the most famous country music city in the world without seeing at least one celebrity. Many country singers reside here, play here and even work here. Nashville is big on country music stars and those who simply want to be out and about in a place that caters to the stars and the people in the south with a lot of money and connections. This city is filled with famous places that are often filled with famous faces.

Atlanta
It is the home of rappers everywhere, and it’s a place you’re guaranteed to see a famous face every now and again. The city is home to some real housewives, some seriously famous athletes and many of the most famous rappers in the world. Why they love this area so much is easy to see; it’s affordable, it’s southern and the food is always good in the south. It’s hard not to love a place like this, especially when you’re in the mood to scout celebs.

New Orleans
The Big Easy is often an easy target for finding celebs. It’s home to some of the world’s most famous people and it’s home to Mardi Gras. The restaurants, the food and the many different films that are shot here on a regular basis make it a very fun place to go when you want to see some celebs. It really is not uncommon to catch a quick glimpse of people such as Brad Pitt and family in the area, which is what makes it such a popular city.

Monte Carlo
If you’re traveling abroad and looking to see some famous celebrities, you’re going to want to go to Monte Carlo. It’s a playground for the rich and famous, and it’s the place in which the best of the best gather. Not only is it fun and gorgeous here, it’s a magnet for the people whose faces are most recognizable. We’d go as far as to say that it’s impossible not to see at least one famous face in this area from time to time.

Paris
The city of love and romance is a wonderful place to see celebrities. It’s a beautiful city with some of the world’s most amazing restaurants, hotels and sights. Celebrities love this area because they are able to escape the places they are most known and visit a place in which most people are completely unimpressed. It’s nice for celebrities to get to visit Paris since most of the natives are not all that into them – or at least that is how they seem from their reactions.

London
We love London because there are always famous people here. Do you even realize how many famous people live here? You’re going to see Beatles, Madonna and maybe even a little royalty. Why would anyone not want to go see the history, the culture and hopefully catch a glimpse of Kate Middleton and Prince William as they make their way around the city? It’s a gathering place for celebs, and we love it.

Dubai
It’s the newest hotspot in the world, and celebrities love it here. It’s rich, it’s cultured and it’s oh-so trendy. Since the Middle East is the new celebrity playground, it only makes sense that they would gather here in numbers. Visit this gorgeous city and catch a glimpse of some of the most famous people in the world working, playing and having a good time in the gorgeous city by the sea.
