When you think about dying, you think about old age and a long, successful, happy and content life. You think about all the things that you’ll accomplish before then, all the things you will live through and love through, and you think about how happy your life will be. What you don’t think about is the fact that some people do not get to see old age, and that is quite unfortunate. There are some cities in which you are more likely to live a long time, others you’re not and still other cities in which you are most likely to die the quickest thanks to forces out of your control. With that said, we’ve taken a look at some of the cities in which people are most likely to die quickly – whether it’s by accident, by murder or by something else.

Washington D.C.
If you’re going to consider living somewhere you might die quickly, the nation’s capital might be at the top of your list. Why? Because it is the city with the most reckless drivers in the country; and those reckless drivers have your life in their hands. You could die very quickly on the road here thanks in large part to the fact that people just don’t pay much attention to their driving when they are here.

Little Rock, Arkansas
Not only is this a city that has a very high crime rate and other dangerous factors that might put your life at risk, it’s also one of the least healthy cities in the country. What this means when you put it all together and do the math is that this is just not a good place to live if you want to increase your chances of living a long and healthy life. You have a greater chance of dying quickly here than in many other cities across the country.

Baltimore, Maryland
Many people might consider this a place in which they might die quickly these days, but not for the right reasons. Aside from the high crime rate, the high murder rate and the rioting that is going on here, it’s the second most dangerous city in the country for reckless drivers. There are more reckless drivers here than almost anywhere else, and that means your chances of dying quickly here are greatly increased in comparison to other cities around the state.

St. Louis, Missouri
Living in St. Louis isn’t going to kill you, except that it might kill you. This is the city ranked the most dangerous in the United States thanks to the high crime rate, the high murder rate and the drug usage in the area. It’s a dangerous city, and you are more likely to die quickly here from murder than anywhere else in the country. Of course, most people don’t die quickly here thanks to murder, but it’s the place where you might have the biggest chance of that.

Spartanburg, South Carolina
It’s here that you will find some of the least healthy people in the country, which means that the chances of living a long life are slimmer here in this little area of the south. The people here are among the most obese in the country, they have the tenth highest blood pressure in the country and the people that live here are among the most poverty-stricken in the country. All together, this means the people in the area are not living long lives as a whole.

Providence, Rhode Island
A city that might seem to be safe and happy is actually Providence. Many people love the city and would love to live here, but it seems that they are some of the people with the worst driving habits. What that means is that you living here could mean dying quickly on the road. The drivers here are the third most reckless in the nation, which can greatly increase your risk of dying on the road. It’s not something many people like to think about, but it is something that you have to think about.

Geneva, Alabama
What makes this area of Alabama so much more likely than others for you to die quickly is the fact that the hospital here is ranked among the worst in the country. What this means is that the hospital here loses too many patients and it’s considered dangerous in terms of infections and other safety issues, but you have a greater chance of dying here than in other hospitals.

Chicago, Illinois
There is nothing to say you will not live a long and full life in Chicago. However, there is a list of hospitals that have been rated the most dangerous in the country and 3 of the top 12 are located in Chicago. That means that you have a much greater chance of dying in the hospital here after routine care than anywhere else in the country, and that is a reason that this city makes the list. Of course, millions also receive wonderful health care here, too.

Chattanooga, Tennessee
It would seem as if this southern city has some of the healthiest people in the country thanks to all there is to do outdoors, but it is not the truth. In fact, there is nothing further from the truth than this. For example, the people here are among the least healthy in the country. The obesity rate here is higher than most cities, the overall health is not good in general. What this means is that the people who live here have a greater chance of dying younger and faster than people in other cities.

Glendale, California
Aside from being a California town with horrible traffic, the drivers are among the most reckless in the state. This means that they are more likely to cause an accident in which you could suffer from life threatening injuries or even instant death. While there are few other factors that make this area dangerous, the bad driving alone makes it one of the cities in the country in which you are most likely to die the quickest simply because you cannot control other people’s driving abilities.

Camden, New Jersey
Camden is a dangerous city and it has been for many years. The people here know that the crime rate is a killer, and so is the murder rate. If you’re looking to avoid cities in which you might die for reasons other than old age, this is one of them. Camden should be avoided by anyone who is looking for a safe city in which to live. There are too many drug users, deals and other crimes that occur here to keep this area on the safe list.

Hollister, California
Here is another city in which the hospital is ranked among the worst in the country as far as safety and deaths are concerned. While you are not going to die fast just because you live here, you have a greater chance of dying if you are injured or sick and receiving medical care here than just about any other city in the country. What this means is that you might want to live somewhere with a better hospital and a greater chance of living.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
There are so many reasons you might die quicker here than you might elsewhere. For one, the crime rate here is quite high. Secondly, this is a city that ranks among the top 10 for the worst drivers in the country. There are an abnormally high number of murders in the city, there is a high crime rate, there is a lot of drug usage and there are a number of other factors that, when all put together, mean that your chances of dying quickly here are quite high.

Redding, California
The beautiful redwoods in Redding are among the longest living and most gorgeous in the world, but they are certainly not the healthiest residents in the world here. In fact, most of the people who live here are among the least healthy and the most likely to die fast and quickly. Many people in the area are living at or below the poverty line, they are more obese here than in other cities and the overall health here is unimpressive. People die a lot sooner in this city.

Flint, Michigan
Michigan is known for having some of the most dangerous cities in the country, though the state gets a bad rap for that. Flint is a known area for a high murder rate, a high crime rate in general and being one of the most dangerous cities in the country for women. The chances of any single person being the victim of a crime that takes there life here is higher than in most other cities around the country.

Detroit, Michigan
There was once a time in which Detroit was a thriving city, a hub of success and fortune. But the economic downfall in 2008 really did a number to this city. It’s now one of the most dangerous in the country. The murder and crime rates here are so high that many people have left the city in hopes that they will be safer elsewhere. While you probably are not going to die here at a young age, chances are much higher that you will lose your life quicker here than other cities.

Charleston, West Virginia
It’s among the least healthy cities in the country, which is why it is a city in which you might have a higher chance of dying quickly than anywhere else. For example, the people here are more likely to die quickly because they are the sixth most obese people in the country, they have the second highest blood pressure in the country and they are among the unhealthiest in the country. Together these things make it seem like a place you might not live very long.

Yet again, we have another California city on the list in which the hospital is considered one of the most dangerous in the country. If there is one thing you do not want to worry about, it’s the health and safety of your life when you go to the hospital. However, more people die here than in many other hospitals, and those that don’t have a greater risk of being infected or becoming more ill thanks to various factors in and around the hospital.

Albany, Georgia
Plenty of people who live here live a long, full and healthy life. However, if you get sick or you are injured and you need local medical care, your chances of dying quickly increase significantly. The hospital in Albany is rated among the worst in the country in terms of patient safety and health. More patients die here and are subjected to the spread of infection and other illness due to safety issues than other hospitals in the country.

Newark, New Jersey
New Jersey has a reputation for being a state with many dangerous cities, as you can see by the number of them on this list. Newark is a city in which there are a lot of murders, too many drugs and a high crime rate, which means that you have a chance of dying here a lot quicker than you do in other cities across the country. Newark isn’t a place that guarantees you will die early, but there is a much higher chance that it will happen around here.
