For many people, New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nights of the year. Not only is it the last night of 2016, it is also a night for a fresh start. When 2016 ends, so will a person’s bad luck. The New Year is a great way to start anew. If you want to celebrate the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017, you should throw a party. A black light party is a fun way to ring in the New Year. You can start by sending out fluorescent invitations in the mail with the details of the party. Decorations: Since it is going to be a black light party, you should replace the light bulbs in your home with black light bulbs. To make the room glow as much as possible, buy some black craft paper and paint it with UV reactive paint. If you are unsure which paints are UV reactive, ask the paint expert at your local hardware store. When you hang the painted paper on the wall, it will glow under the black light. Also, be sure to hand out glow sticks to all of your guests. You can also hand out glow necklaces and headbands.
Food and Drinks: There are certain foods that will react better in the black light than others. If you are going to have a black light where your guests will be eating, you should know what to serve. Hummus and cheese dip are neutral in color and they will react to the light well. This makes a cracker plate with different types of dip an excellent option. Tonic water glows great under a black light. If you are planning to make a punch, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic, you should make ice cubes out of tonic water. This will make your whole punch bowl glow.
Music: If you want to stick with the whole black light theme, you should consider playing electronic or house music at your party.
A black light party is a unique theme that you won’t see at too many parties this year. Just remember, the brighter, the better.

Casino Night is a great party theme and it gives you guests a chance to get all dressed up. Be sure to mention on the invitation that it is going to be a dressy event. If you want to go all out, you can get the felt table toppers for roulette and poker. If not, a deck of cards and some poker chips will suffice. When it comes to the menu, finger foods are best. This will allow your guests to continue playing even when they are eating. You should also keep the drinks simple. Mixed drinks with soda or beer are good choices. To make things fun and stick to the theme, purchase sunglasses for everyone so that they can put on their best poker face. When it comes to winnings, you can either hand out poker chips to each guest for fun or your can have them buy their chips so that you can play for money.
80’s Theme
Many people feel especially nostalgic for the 80’s. It was a time when the music was great, the hair was big, and everything was bright and loud. Throwing an 80’s themed party is a great idea. When you invite your guests, make sure that they know that it is an 80’s party and they should dress accordingly. Teenagers in the 80’s would find a way to get a keg of beer and keep it in their bath tub. You can do the same thing. There are several sites online who sell 80’s party decorations. When it comes to planning the menu, think simple since things were simple in the 80’s. Serve frozen pizza, hot dogs, and popcorn. Finally, make sure that you have 80’s music playing in the background for your guests dance the way they did in their teens.
Black and White Ball
If you want to go fancy this New Year’s Eve, you should consider having a black and white ball. Start by having your guests dress in all black or in all white. Black and white balloons and streamers will make the party area look festive and it will keep with the party’s theme. The food can also be black and white. For your main course, prepare white dishes, such as risotto, pasta, and alfredo based dishes. Chocolate and vanilla desserts are also a great choice. Just make sure that you have plenty of black and white cookies on hand.
