The building was built in the late 1920s, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The area is home to more than three dozen art galleries and other cool shops. Each year, the city hosts the Art Walk, which “has been an epicenter of creativity, expression and inspiration for artists, art enthusiasts and those who simply want to engage in a vibrant, living city filled with culture.” During the event, there is live music, as well as various food vendors, and visitors can get a chance to see some great local art work.
