Located in the southwestern part of the state, Sarasota FL is a beautiful city that is often overlooked. However, each year, more and more tourists flock to Sarasota and it’s very easy to see why. Sarasota is full of awesome attractions and plenty of things to do. On top of that, Sarasota also boasts the beautiful weather that Florida has become known for. While most people are only interested taking trips to Orlando and Miami, Sarasota is the perfect place to be if you’re looking to have a good time and avoid much of the crowd. Visit the John and Mable Ringling Museum

If you’re a fan of the circus — and even if you’re not — you should definitely take the time to visit the John and Mable Ringing Museum. Sure, most museums have a reputation for being boring and stuffy, but not this one. With more than 150,000 square feet of space, the property is home to several interesting exhibits including the Ringling brothers’ mansion, and the rest of their estate. In fact, some members of the Ringling family have even been buried on the property.

Visit Myakka River State Park

Although most people recognize Florida’s warm weather, they tend to forget that the state is also full of natural beauty. Well, a trip to Myakka state park will certainly help you see some of what Florida’s ecosystem has to offer. The park, which is part of the southeastern conifer forests ecoregion, is home to plenty of wildlife  and there are also several hiking trails that run throughout the park. If hiking isn’t your thing, there are also picnic areas and boat tours that allow visitors a unique way to see the park.

This location aims to “collect and preserve work of artistic and whimsical importance.” The museum is full of bright, colorful and fun things to look at. Although some may mistake this place for a kid’s museum, it’s welcoming to visitors of all ages and adults can certainly enjoy this incredible collection of cool art.

Opened in 1936, the Sarasota Jungle Gardens is a popular botanical garden that has become a well-known tourist attraction. The garden is home to countless plants and there are even some exotic plants from other parts of the world. Each year, the garden hosts several events for visitors, including a Punch and Judy puppets show.
