Patowmack Canal
If you love history and cool architecture, then the Potowack Canal is definitely a site worth seeing. Originally planned by George Washington, the goal of the Patowmack Canal was to make the Potomac River as navigational as possible. Construction began on the canal during the late 1700s, and there are now five canals between Maryland and Virginia.

Beall-Dawson House
Rockville MD is a place with more history than most people even realize. Now home to the Montgomery County Historical Society, the Beall-Dawson house was built in 1815 for Upton Beall and his family. Upton Beall’s children lived in the home for their entire lives, and the property remained in the family until 1960. The Beall-Dawson house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Rock Creek Regional Park
When the weather is nice, there’s nothing better than getting out and enjoying an amazing day. With nearly 2,000 acres of space, Rock Creek Regional Park is a beautiful place to hang out and enjoy some of the natural beauty of the Rockville area. The park is home to trails, a fishing lake, picnic areas, and a nature center.

F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater
If you’re ever in the mood for a good show while hanging out in Rockville MD, then you definitely need to take the time to visit the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater. Named for the man who penned The Great Gatsby, the theater “is a 446-seat facility for the performing arts, home to Rockville Musical Theatre, Rockville Little Theatre, Rockville Civic Ballet, and Victorian Lyric Opera Company. The Montgomery County facility is operated as a rental venue for both public and private events, including presentations, ceremonies, and performances.” Those who have visited the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater have been extremely impressed by the fact that all of the seats in the building have a great view.
