Kids these days don’t spend nearly as much time outside as previous generations. While technology is great, it has also resulted in a lack of social skills and decreased activity for many young people. However, this structure by Matter Design aims to give kids a new place to play. Named Five Fields Play Structure, this wooden building “is situated on the sloping landscape of a mid-century modern common land, where neighborhood kids enjoy a shared backyard.” The design is unique and features both indoor and outdoor components for kids to enjoy. The structure can accommodate several children at once, and provides a great way for kids to stay active and have fun. Take a look at Five Fields Play Structure by Matter Design.
From the outside, it’s not easy to tell what this structure is meant to be. However, a closer look reveals something fun and exciting.
Built on a slight hill, the Five Fields Play Structure has plenty of room for kids to play and explore.
Despite having a simple wooden design, the structure also has a few pops of color. This is especially important for something designed to attract kids since bright colors are good at getting their attention.
Little paths and passageways make it easy to get around inside the play house.
An open design means that even when kids are ‘inside’ the stricture, they are still technically outside. Small obstacles throughout also give children a chance to get active while also having fun.
