Linda Hamilton and James Cameron (1999) – $50 million

James Cameron and movie star Linda Hamilton first crossed paths on the set of ‘The Terminator.’ They decided to make things official and get married in 1997, but their union ended two years later, with Hamilton getting a substantial $50 million divorce settlement.

Kenny Rogers and Marianne Rogers (1993) – $60 million

Country singer Kenny Rogers and his wife, Marianne, remained married for 15 years until they separated in 1993. After they cut ties, the country music Hall of Famer was obliged to give his wife a $60 million divorce settlement. Years later, he acknowledged in an interview that she deserved every penny.

Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva (1994) – $80 million

Michael Jordan and Juanita Jordan (2006) – $168 million

In 2006, the NBA legend called a time-out on their 17-year marriage. Following this, the couple officially divorced the same year following a previously filed divorce in 2002. At first, the couple tried to work on their marriage, but things still fell apart, and Juanita got a huge $168 million divorce settlement.

Mel Gibson and Robyn Denise Moore (2011) – $425 million

American actor and film director Mel Gibson and his wife Robyn Denise Moore divorced after 26 years of marriage and seven children. The latter received a whopping $425 million divorce settlement, equivalent to half of Gibson’s fortune. The couple did not have a prenuptial agreement, so Robyn was entitled to half of his worth.

Adnan Khashoggi and Soraya Khashoggi (1974) – $875 million

Adnan Khashoggi married 20-year-old Englishwoman Sandra Daly, who converted to Islam and took the name Soraya Khashoggi. 13 years later, the Saudi arms dealer gave his wife a divorce settlement of $875 million when they ended their marriage. It was the biggest divorce settlement ever at that time.

Harold Hamm and Sue Ann Arnall (2012) – $1 billion

After 26 years of matrimony, the CEO of Continental Resources, Harold Hamm, was directed to give his ex-wife, Sue Ann Arnall, nearly $1 billion in cash and assets. After a November ruling that favored his ex-wife, the billionaire wrote a $975 million personal check to his ex-wife on the orders of an Oklahoma court. The amount was among the largest ever for a divorce in the United States.

Rupert Murdoch and Anna Murdoch (1999) – $1.7 billion

Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch and his wife Anna decided to separate after 32 years of union and three children. Their divorce ended with the Scottish-Australian journalist and novelist walking away with $1.7 billion of the billionaire’s fortune (which included $110 million in cash).
