Many times, when you’re looking at a house, what you see is what you get. After all, it’s not uncommon for homes to have fairly straight forward designs, and most people can’t imagine it any other way. However, like all other art forms, there’s no one way to design a home, and Japanese design firm, K.K. Den is all about getting creative. The firm’s project, Hirao House, which is located in Toyokawa, Japan features an incredibly unique design that will definitely catch most people off guard.
From the outside, the home appears o be completely closed off with the exception of one narrow entrance. According to the home’s description, “Hirao House looks closed, but, in fact, it is opened.” Once people get an interior view of the home, they’ll truly realize that there is much more to Hirao House than meets the eye.
