For many of us, our homes are our sanctuaries. They are the place where we most want to feel safe and at peace, two things Bracket Design Studio kept in mind when they designed Vila 131, a private home in Stockholm. According to the project’s description, “Cities, nowadays, have been changed into noisy places, while, then urban landscape is constantly yelling of restlessness and uncertainty, a plain mansion has been constructed between the garden, which provides a room for silence and listening to the sounds of nature.”
By designing a space that is meant to be a retreat from the busy world, the firm created a structure that is simple on the outside to avoid being overwhelming. The home’s interior also features a minimalist design that boasts large open spaces and lots of natural light. With a thoughtful layout and beautiful layout, this home has definitely accomplished its goals. Take a look at Vila 131 by Bracket Design Studio.
With a stacked design that almost resembles boxes, the home’s exterior is fairly simple. However, wooden patio deck space provides a nice accent to the otherwise all gray design.
Large windows can be found throughout the home’s design which not only provide easy viewing access, but also allow for natural light to flow through the home.
Beautiful hardwood flooring helps maintain the theme of simplicity which can be found both inside and outside the home.
When a home has a minimalist design, using fun accents and accessories can be a great way to spruce things up. This unique round hanging lamp brings in an ice touch of interesting style.
Built in shelves and cabinets provide plenty of storage to help decrease clutter and promote organization.
