When most people visit in art gallery, it’s what’s inside that their going to see. However, at the Jung Gil-Young Gallery, the building’s exterior is just as amazing as what can be found inside. Designed by Korean firm, Yoon Space Design, the building uses mirrors to create a unique look. With a reflective outer wall, the gallery makes great use of its surroundings. According to the building’s description, “The designer rather applied unnatural mirror mass which is contrary to nature to bring the natural beauty of the surrounding to the building, and the contrast of the physical properties of these materials and nature reflected in the mirror provide a unique space with exquisite fusion.”
Inside, the project continues with its unique theme, and a grand red staircase helps bring the design together. Although the exhibits may still be the main attraction, the building itself is certainly a sight in itself. Take a look at the Jung Gil-Young Gallery.
The building’s mirrored exterior almost gives it the illusion of transparency.
Leading into the structure, this red staircase provides a nice contrast against the glass walls.
Bright colors help the interior of the gallery seem warm and welcoming for all who pass through.
Unlike many other galleries, this location has a casual design that makes viewing works of art feel like an intimate experience.
High ceilings allow for an extra layer of spaciousness.
During the night, the gallery’s red staircase is illuminated, making the building even more eye-catching in the darkness.
